ALBANY - Published reports the past few days indicated New York Jets running back Curtis Martin's knee problems might force him to miss the upcoming season and perhaps even retire. But Martin's plight hasn't caused Tiki Barber to consider ending his own career any sooner.

"I know I have a finite number of years and carries in me," Barber said. "But I don't think I've hit that number yet, and I'm still going strong."

Barber discussed retirement earlier in training camp at the University at Albany, saying he might call it quits after another season or two if he finds the right opportunity outside football. Though …
